Last December I had the great pleasure of hearing Voci choir under the direction of Susan Piggott give a performance of the Christmas Triptych, which of course is only it’s second performance. Hopefully there will be more. They did a great job and many thanks to Sue and Voci choir. A link to a recording of the performance is HERE (click on the Read More button to see this link). I started my visit in London where I stayed with my niece Amy and her fiance, Mihall. (Irish for Michael). He and I...

Nice to have something to dress up for on an Easter Sunday morning, but, for us, a rather unusual choice of venue. We were going to Mass in the church at Rochechouart. I’m not a religious sort of person, but I do appreciate beautiful buildings and music, and as members of Cantique were singing and Rochechouart has a beautiful church, this gave us two good reasons to be there. The atmosphere was lovely and quite joyous ... Easter is a celebration after all ... and the ceremony and ritual quite...

Despite, or perhaps because of, some April showers, Spring has sprung at last and I can't resist trotting out into the garden first thing, down to the shed to look at the young plants and the seedlings we are attempting to grow. Though this Easter Monday has brought grey skies, it is warming up . We had been asked to sing at Easter Day...

Following a long stretch without a drop of rain, we woke on Sunday to find ourselves splashing about like ducks! Of course, for gardeners everywhere it was long overdue and more than a little welcome, but we at Cantique had a busy day ahead so we put on our macs and loaded up the car with music bags, music stands, and all the usual paraphernalia needed for a typical Cantique rehearsal. It was our assemblée générale rehearsal and a bean feast all rolled into one. In truth, I suppose we were...

What better way to mark ten years of music making for a choir than a season of successful concerts?
